Demon in Disguise

In today's world, there is a secret weapon that is more powerful than a nuclear bomb, more lethal than a cobra venom. Its everywhere yet its nowhere. The people possessing this weapon is no terrorist, they are normal human beings, who ride a public bus to reach home. But there is a twist. Their secret weapon makes sure they get all the facilities including a reserved seat. You will even find some of them sitting beside you, chewing his/her pen and staring blankly upon his/her exam paper. Some of them are very clever. They even act lame to use this weapon. It again ensures some extra facilities from the people around them.
So what is this weapon? You have got it right! Its sympathy.
A couple of days ago the news agency had made the "OBC Quota" policy a huge agenda. The root of this problem is perhaps "sympathy". Our predecessors might have sympathised on a couple of poor(economically) fellows who "accidentally" belonged to some backward class. And this noble thought of some good men are being utilized as a weapon to reach the top by a few. This is wrong. Even if we forget bigger issues like this, lets say, reserving seats for the ladies. Why? Is this because they are the so called "weaker sex". If yes then why you propagate tag lines like "men and women are all same". I have seen a couple of teenagers asking an octogenarian, who happens to be a male, to get up and leave his seat for her because its "reserved". It only shows that the women also support that they are weaker than the men and that they require special care. Quite an irony when you see the feminist movements happening in and around the country.
